'Lean' inspired by 'Without Understanding, We Have Beauty' by Jim Carruth.
Both paintings have been inspired by a sequence of poems by Jim Carruth, 'Without Understanding, We Have Beauty' and are watercolours made in response to the natural world.

The first, 'Lean' (see image, above), a large watercolour of a fig that is on the cusp of becoming rotten, is exhibited in the Upper Galleries as part of the Visual Arts Scotland (VAS) Annual Exhibition.

The second is a watercolour painting of a rosehip, 'swimming' through a watery background and is called 'Drench' (see image in 'Painting' Gallery). It is part of the Annual Exhibition of the Society of Scottish Artists (SSA), which is in the Lower Galleries.
